The Consultative Center for the Integration of Bulgaria into the European Union, Bulgaria is a limited liability, single entity company, registered by virtue of a Decision on Company Case No. 4853 dated 04.04.2000 of Sofia City Court in compliance with the Commercial Act of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Presentation
The Consultative Center for the Integration of Bulgaria into the European Union Ltd., hereinafter referred to as The Consultative Center, is the first and the sole private company in Bulgaria which, on the basis of its own resources renders services to a large number of clients: state and local authorities bodies, private companies, non-government organizations and individuals. The Consultative Center specializes in two major fields: information services and consulting activities in the area of the accession of Bulgaria into the European Union.

The Consultative Center was included in the programs of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in 2003 and it was appointed to be the regional Center of UNIDO in Bulgaria specialized in the field of encouraging and supporting the transfer of new technologies and innovations and their introduction into industry.

The Consultative Center develops its activities as a Center for technology promotion and innovation and is part of the Central Operational Network for Technological Exchange and Enterpreneurship with UNIDO.

The Consultative Center sustains an abundant information bank containing documents and topical materials with economic, legal and political information about the European Union, the interrelations of Bulgaria and EU, EU programs for Bulgaria as well as profiles of the establishments and institutes working in this field. Over 1000 clients are provided services every year.

  • Metal-workers Trade Union Federation – incorporates over 60% of the workers employed in the Bulgarian metallurgy sector. The Federation is member of CITUB as well as a member of the European Federation of the metal-workers and the World Federation of the metal-workers.
    Mission of the Consultative Center:
  • To act as a National Center and Forum of Industry, distributing the latest scientific and technological achievements of the world with the view of integrating Bulgaria in the global economy;
  • To serve as an information field connecting the industrial and technological needs and the market demands with the existing technological basis;
  • To stimulate the distribution and the transfer of new technologies and innovations in industry;
    To join efforts of the government and state organizations, private companies and financial institutions in the industrial sector with the view of increasing the technological and production capacity of the local production in compliance with the requirements of the competitive world market and the standards of quality as well as the protection of environment.
    Services offered by the Consultative Center:
  • The main aspect of the activities of the Center is the work on the programs of the European Union – SAPARD, ISPA, PHARE and the subprograms in the field of ecology, labor safety, information technology, small and medium size enterprises, education and culture as well as on the programs of UNIDO for technological innovation and development.
  • Prepares and manages projects in different branch areas on pre-accession funds and EU programs with the participation of highly qualified specialists and experts;
  • Compiles tender pre-qualification documents;
  • Specifies and uses international channels for technological transfer, training and maintenance in the course of the introduction of new technologies;
  • Binding the techniques for technological promotion with the investment possibilities of UNIDO Exchange Network;
  • Serves as an intermediary in establishing international cooperation;
  • Serves as an intermediary in the course of implementing technological transfers and their directing to potential investors;
  • Assist the establishment of institutions and production centers;
  • Implements specialized training, production technology practical courses and seminars;
  • Carries out consulting services and expert’ evaluations including management consulting;
  • Elaborates and offers strategic proposals for the development of individual productions and branches as well as key solutions;
  • Carries out feasibility studies and elaborates market analyses and expert’ evaluations.
    Results
    - The Consultative Center has prepared offers and documentation for participating in the project: “Reinforcing the administrative capacity to manage the acquis communautaire in the field of competition”.
    - Jointly with Euromodel XXI Consortium Civilian Society The Consultative Center publishes Euromodel XXI Magazine, the purpose of which is to popularize the European idea, to sum up the experience, the decisions and the alternatives of European development, to attempt to analyze and foresee the stages, mechanisms and the “underwater cliffs” in the process of integrating Bulgaria in the European structures.
    - Not only does the Consultative Center provide information but it also promotes the activities of Bulgarian industrial and finance companies, and of Bulgarian businesses on their way to European integration.
    - Analyses, assessment and standpoint on the National Report of the Republic of Bulgaria on the Nuclear Safety Convention.

    Staff and location
    The Consultative Center is located in a 6-story building at 4, Sv. Nedelya Square. The building is in the very center of Sofia, next to a number of ministries, government establishments, The Chamber of Commerce and Industry, large banks and company headquarters as well as the Sheraton Hotel.
    The Consultative Center is allotted two floors in the said building, the ground floor serving as a reception area for clients and has a full-time staff of 5 people. Well-known local and foreign experts are regularly employed as consultants on current projects and assignments.
